Patrouille de France – one of the most famous aerobatic formations in the world - premiere in Romania at BIAS 2025.

Founded in 1953, but active since 1931 under different names, this elite unit of the French Air Force is the oldest military aerobatic flight team of all time and is considered one of the best in the world.

The demonstration program of Patrouille de France changes every year and is among the most sophisticated. The team is divided into two groups: Box Avant (Athos 1-4) and Box Arrière (Athos 5-8).

The positions of the eight Alphajet aircrafts are extremely precise. From the “leader”, the conductor of the formation, the “eagle”, who follows him, the “insiders”, the “outsiders” and the “solos”, everyone knows their place and role perfectly.

The planes move at speeds between 200 and 600 km/h and fly approximately two meters apart from each other, subjecting the pilots to accelerations between -3G and +7G, at an altitude between 30 and 1500 meters above the ground.

The team uses red, white and blue smoke throughout the show.

Its most famous calling card is a maneuver that draws a colorful heart in the sky, pierced by a Cupid's arrow.
